From r/c to Z400 in 7 Day's
BymATT hARRIS (I am an Owner) onMar 07, 2013
I went to my local atv dealer in 2010 to discover he had a 2004 z400 quadsport in the showroom-[1 owner/trade in]-I fell in love with it right away-I put 600.00 down that night [my rent money] and told the salesman i'd be back in a week to pay it off-I told him I had a huge collection of hobby shop ... grade r/c car's at home and would auction them off on ebay to get the rest of the cash-the salesman replied " seriously how much time do you really need-we will work with you" I answered the same as before-"one week" -well 27 car's and 1 week later I had made 2900.00 on ebay-700.00 over what I needed to buy the quad-I went to the dealer-handed him the cash, and got my z400! the salesman told me he's seen a lot of crazy way's for people to come up with cash for stuff-but had NEVER seen anything like this before!-I truly love my quad and the trade up was well worth the cars-ive included a pic of what it looked like the morning after I braught it home, and it still looks the same now-the z400 is a great machine and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat! z400 is a good machine
Bycort (I am an Owner) onDec 13, 2010
ok so ive owned my z400 for a good while now and have road a variety of different sport quads. this by far is the one of, if not the best bike IMO. easily customizable and it has some of the cheapest performance parts available. now the z400 is not nearly as fast as a 450 but with a few modifications ... you'll be right with them if not beating them. the only downsides i can see for this quad are its out of date chain adjusting system, and the tendency of the valves to cup and cam chain to stretch.
GOOD
- EASILY MADE INTO A FAST RACER
- CHEAP PARTS
- EXTREMELY!!! RELIABLE
- GREAT WOODS MACHINE
BAD
- VALVES
- CAM CHAIN
- CHAIN ADJUSTER
(NOTHING BIG)

z400 vs honda400
Bydamon (I am an Owner) onDec 12, 2010
I just sold my Honda rancher350 and bought a z400 Suzuki. I love it. It is faster than my brothers Honda400. A lot of people think the Honda is faster but there wrong. I let my brother ride my z400 and I rode his Honda400 and he walked away from me. I would like for someone to give me some tips ... on things to look for and repair on the z400. I was told the frames are weak. Is that true ?

2004 Suzuki z400
ByAndrew Waege (I am an Enthusiast) onNov 03, 2010
I love to ride ATV's on the weekends, and am always trying out my friend's ATVs. I recently rode a 2004 Suzuki z400. I am 5' 10" and around 220lbs, this sport quad had no problem moving up and trails with my weight on it. I really enjoyed the quick throttle response and perfect handling of this ... quad. The quad had power to spare and was hardly even breathing hard after an intense trial ride. This quad does take a little bit of experience to operate due to the extreme power and speed of the quad, so some amount of experience would be useful before jumping on it. I would strongly recommend this quad for riders.
